Virtual Tenth EDCTP forum
I attended the tenth EDCTP forum virtually this time. I had submitted an abstract on our journey in finding a female trainee fellow for my fellowship and that abstract had been accepted for an oral presentation. I was also invited to present at the EDCTP alumni day about ‘becoming an independent investigator’. In both presentations, I highly focused on gender inequity in research capacity in Sub Saharan Africa. During the forum, I decided to find a quieter place than the office and as such I attended the forum while being in the African bush amongst zebras, wildebeest, giraffes and warthogs.
